Research Fellow (Urban Development, Transportation, and Placemaking)

The Kinder Institute for Urban Research is a multi-disciplinary “think-and-do tank” housed on the Rice University campus in central Houston, focusing on urban issues in Houston, the American Sunbelt, and around the world.

 

Under the supervision of the program director, the DTP Research Fellow will be primarily responsible for conducting research and producing work products that are a part of the overall Development, Transportation, and Placemaking work program. Areas of research within this program include transportation policy and modeling, housing, land-use and development, and community-engaged research.

 

The DTP Research Fellow will conduct assigned research assignments and produce final work products within project’s specified timeline. The DTP Research Fellow will assist the program director in shaping the program’s overall research agenda and approach.

 

In the course of research, the DTP Research Fellow may be asked to join the program director and/or other team members for meetings with partner organizations and government representatives, and assist the program director and the Kinder Institute’s senior editor with the dissemination of research.

 

This position is funded by a research grant; the appointment is expected to continue for a period up to 24 months.
