Overview:
The Metropolitan Housing and Community Center is in need of a full-time researcher who will work with senior researchers on a variety of housing and urban policy issues. The Research Associate II will perform a full range of research duties and research management tasks.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include contributing to writing reports, blogs, and other products; producing literature reviews; processing and analyzing data; conducting qualitative field work; producing tables and graphics for reports; managing project schedules and budgets; helping research assistants with assignments; and assisting the center in communicating key research findings to the public.

Qualifications:
A Masters degree in the field of Economics, Public Policy, Urban Studies, Sociology or other social science field; Mathematics, or Statistics is preferred, or the academic knowledge of a discipline that is generally associated with the attainment of a master’s degree (usually with a bachelor’s degree in a related field).

Candidate must demonstrate solid research skills, analytic thinking, and quantitative aptitude. Experience in communications or summarizing policy research results for a policy audience is a plus. Experience with qualitative or quantitative analysis, statistical packages (SAS, SPSS, Stata), mapping software (ArcGIS), or computer programming languages is also a plus. We are also seeking candidates who are bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish.

This position requires an organized, highly motivated, creative, and self-confident individual who can work effectively on multiple projects at once.

The successful candidate should have a strong interest in one or more of the following topics: housing policy, housing and services for vulnerable populations, community revitalization initiatives, economic development, neighborhood indicators, and performance management.
