NNIP Camp, Session 1 (June 2019)

"NNIPCamp" is a  series of concurrent “un-conference” sessions co-created by the meeting participants on site.  The purpose is to allow open space during the meeting to share and learn about topics of interest to participants in an informal setting.

Title: Tracking capital flows in neighborhoods, including OZ investments

Description: The communities we care about often have faced decades of disinvestment. What ways are you tracking how capital is flowing into neighborhoods? is it equitable? how will new investments in Opportunity Zones affect flows? what could we do as a network together on this?

Title: Partners' strategies and involvement with Census 2020

Description: An opportunity for partners to talk about strategies to mobilize for a Census 2020 complete count. NNIP HQ can provide an update on Census activities and overview of our goals.

Title: Big data and algorithms and AI

Description:  What are NNIP partners' roles in helping advance the role of ethics in algorithms?  Can we be taking better advantage of machine learning techniques?

Description: How are partners funded? Who are the champions? Who else needs to be at the table? How can we ensure the sustainability of this great work? 
 
Outside: 
Title: Walk outside to view nearby neighborhood(s) and talk about ways to measure built environment quality(e.g., audits, sensors, surveys, tree counts, maintenance agency data)
