Assistant Professor & Training Co-Lead

Félice Lê-Scherban received a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Michigan and an MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research centers on health disparities with a focus on chronic disease disparities, life course determinants, and immigrant health. Her work has examined intergenerational socioeconomic influences on mental and physical health; neighborhood social contexts; and cardiovascular risk among immigrants.

Dr. Lê-Scherban collaborates on several UHC research projects focusing on children's health. She co-leads a 2016 UHC pilot grant project examining how parents' past exposure to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) relates to the health of their children in Philadelphia. She is also conducting research as part of the Pediatric Big Data project to characterize disparities in childhood obesity over time using electronic health record data, and to investigate how perinatal outcomes and neighborhood conditions contribute to these disparities. Dr. Lê-Scherban is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Drexel Dornsife School of Public Health. She co-directs the Data & Research Core of the Promise Neighborhoods grant, which intends to create a cradle-to-career continuum of support for children who live or attend school in the West Philadelphia Promise Zone, as well as their families and communities.
