In 2014, the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP) asked 32 local member organizations that help their communities use data to make better decisions about the funding they receive for such work. The median funding level for NNIP-related data, analysis, and technical assistance activities was $365,000, primarily provided by local foundations, governments, and nonprofit organizations. Most funding was dedicated to specific projects, which accounted for two-thirds or more of the budget for half the partners. All but a few partners also received some flexible funding to support general operations.
