“…what happens depends on what we do, don’t do, and when.”

The West Philadelphia Promise Neighborhood and Drexel’s Urban Health Collaborative found that in just the first two weeks of the city’s stay-at-home order, 1,443 lives were saved by community members social distancing. If Philadelphians continue to stay at home for 60 days, they may save 7,138 lives in their city. This is equivalent to the lives lost each year from heart disease stroke, Alzheimer's, and diabetes combined.

This analysis leverages methodology shared by CI:NOW from their calculations of lives saved in the San Antonio area.
