Institute for Urban Policy Research   (Dallas)

The Institute for Urban Policy Research serves as the research partner for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas' United 2020 initiatiave. United 2020 established broad, community-wide goals in the areas of Income, Health, and Education for North Texas, and IUPR provides year to year assessments to track change and inform grantmaking priorities.

Using an in-depth analysis of hospital discharge and ER admission data, this baseline study finds that in 2010 roughly 82% of the region's more than 1.1 million ER visits were for preventable or avoidable conditions.
