A Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) report shows that Greater Boston residents of color are more likely to live close to high-polluting roadways. Other studies have shown that exposure to vehicle air pollution increases the risk of heart and lung diseases, which have been associated with higher death rates for patients suffering from COVID-19.
