In partnership with Action for Children (AfC), The Columbus Foundation (TCF), Franklin County Jobs and Family Services (FCDJFS), Franklin County Children Services (FCCS), Future Ready (FR), The Ohio State University Early Head Start (OSU EHS), the United Way of Central Ohio (UWCO), and the YMCA of Central Ohio (YMCA), Thoughtwell completed a needs assessment for Franklin County youth between birth and 12 years old. The needs assessment summarizes key needs for young children, stretching from safe sleep to prevent infant mortality, to early childhood education, to emotional support. In addition, attachments to the needs assessment show, for each zip code and public school district in Franklin County, the schools and childcare centers that are available to local parents. Another attachment provides county residents with an interactive resource matrix that allows the user to select program type and age groups and see available programs that might meet their needs. This needs assessment is the second of two needs assessments that Thoughtwell completed for Franklin County; the first focused on youth ages 12-24 years.
