Census 2020, Explained

Report by Peter Ciurczak
March 2019

Boston Indicators   (Boston)

This Boston Indicators research report provides information on the current state and prospects of the U.S. Census, in an effort to increase the odds of an accurate count. The Commonwealth depends acutely on the accuracy of the decennial count, as a small but populous state. With many students, renters, non-family shared households and immigrant residents, the population is ever-changing and especially hard to count. Some $16 billion in federal funding could be affected. That is why this research is more important than ever. Boston Indicators hopes sharing this information will spur deeper investigations into Census best practices, and help those in the campaign to “get out the count” for 2020.
