Data Highlights:

Food insecurity is unacceptably high in King County, especially among children.  Over 20 per cent of King County children are food insecure and 13percent of King County residents overall are food insecure.  Household food sometimes/often doesn’t last for nine per cent of King County households that ran out of food in 2010, up from six per cent in 2007

Food is more likely to run out for King County households with children, including 49 per cent of Hispanic households with children,  46 per cent of households with children in which income was <$35,000/year, and 35per cent of households with children in which a parent has less than a high school education and 18 per cent of households with children in South Region
