The 8th Annual Public Performance Measurement & Reporting Conference
Announcing the 8th Annual Public Performance Measurement and Reporting Conference hosted by the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University-Newark. The topic of this conference will be the development, implementation and results of public sector and non-profit performance systems.
Performance measurement can help to satisfy citizen and stakeholder demands for both efficiency and transparency. Through the effective use of data and performance-based leadership, organizations have opportunities to improve and deliver services to their stakeholders, as promised. However, they often fall into the trap of “data for the sake of data.” A performance system is more than simply collecting data; it is collecting the right data and linking it to strategic plans for improvement. The goal of this conference is to assist public and non-profit professionals in reaching beyond the data to implement systems that will help them achieve their organization’s missions efficiently and effectively.
We invite practitioner and research presentations on the application of performance measurement and improvement systems in public and non-profit organizations, especially:
- Implementing performance based-reforms at the organizational or sub-organizational levels
- The impact of data collection on organizational performance.
- Citizen-facing performance systems to enhance transparency.
We anticipate tracks in these five areas:
- Municipal - and County - Level Performance Systems
- State Performance Systems
- Federal and International Performance Systems
- Measuring Performance in the Non-Profit Sector
