SAVI Develops 5-year Strategic Plan

The Polis Center   (Indianapolis)

May 2011

During the summer of 2010 we began a strategic planning process with the SAVI Advisory Board.  The results of this work include a refined vision and mission statement for SAVI to better clarify its role in an increasingly data-centric world; an impact model to define SAVI’s outcomes and intended impact; a conceptual model to better define the primary components, outcomes, and priorities of SAVI; and a 5-year strategic plan with strategic and operational goals and objectives.  SAVI’s refined mission is “to help organizations and individuals make informed decisions by 1) providing reliable data about communities; 2) creating actionable information; 3) developing tools for data analysis; and 4) building capacity, especially for nonprofit and community-based organizations, to use data effectively.”  Its vision is to “be the authoritative source for data and information about Central Indiana communities and be a national model to improve decision making and create more effective programs, services, and communities.”
