Position Title: Data Analyst, Program Evaluation Department: Evaluation & Innovation
Reports To: Associate Manager of Performance & Evaluation FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Grade: 105 Salary Range: $52,014.05 - $85,810.92

Salary is commensurate with experience
Position Purpose:
This position utilizes analytical and cross-functional skills to support monitoring the performance and effectiveness of programs and services relevant to JWB Strategic Result Areas.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs online analytical processing and analysis of multidimensional data sets related to JWB funded programs and initiatives.
  • Works closely with program evaluation team in the monitoring of JWB funded programs and initiatives, specifically related to data quality, data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and reporting.
  • Provides technical assistance to internal and external partners on issues related to data including, collection, quality, data systems, and/or data uploads provided to JWB.
  • Participates in the creation and maintenance of quality assurance process to ensure the technical quality and accuracy of data and reporting throughout all systems.
  • Performs data analysis and prepares tables, charts, reports, and graphs for presentations or reports.
  • Utilizes analytical software and statistical software to manage and analyze large datasets to determine relevant outcomes.
  • Provides administrative system support for JWB software systems related to evaluation of program data.
  • Serves as a liaison between Evaluation and IT units as a member of the Data Analytics Team to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Responds to internal and external data requests and special projects.
  • Works cooperatively with cross-functional teams both internally and externally in order to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Uploads, classifies, retrieves, and maintains documents in accordance with established Unit record management procedures while adhering to State Laws.
  • Performs related work as assigned or required.

Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Social Science, Data Science, or related field preferred and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in data analytics, research, program evaluation, and/or human services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in online analytical processing (OLAP), SQL querying and data visualizations preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and their functions.
  • Knowledge of analytical and data management practices and tools as they pertain to human services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs and their essential functions including advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of tools use to manipulate, manage, and analyze large datasets.
  • Skills in solution-focused thinking and adherence to detail.
  • Ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences in an understandable format.
  • Ability to adapt to and be eager to learn new information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at an advanced level.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening as required by Ch. 435 Florida Statutes.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

  • JWB staff shall reside within the Tampa Bay area. Currently, this is a hybrid-remote position and physical presence at the JWB office or other sites in Pinellas County may be required.
