Institute for Urban Policy Research   (Dallas)

May 2011

The Urban Issues Workshop, a pilot initiative of the Citi Community Leadership Initiative, is completing its first full semester’s-worth of projects. The workshop pairs doctoral students in the social sciences with non-profit and community-based organizations to conduct research and evaluation activities that further their mission, all at little or no cost to the organizations. The first semester’s projects ranged from the development of evaluation plans to broad literature reviews to advanced quantitative projects. Clients included, among others, CitySquare, Parkland Health and Hospital System, the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Research and Education Foundation, the Dallas Morning News, and the Inner-city Community Development Corporation.
