IMS and PRC host "Winds of Change" seminar on climate-induced migration

PSU's Institute of Portland Metropoliotan Studies and Population Research Center partnered with the University of Washington's Climate Impacts Group to host a symposium on the impact of climate change on migration, with a focus on the Pacific Northwest. The event brought together demographers, economists, and climate scientists from Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia to discuss what we know--and what we need to know--about how climate change might affect our region. We plan to continue meeting with the working group to develop a research proposal for improving population forecasting methods by considering climate impacts and how the affect migration decisions.
