JOB OPPORTUNITY TITLE: Director Local Learning Partnership Company: Human Services Planning Alliance/United Way HOURS: 8-5/ M-F plus ability to participate in early morning and evening meetings as necessary Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000/Year, Full Time Employment JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for leading and managing people and partners' understanding and using information for learning and decision making, including data collection, data integration, data analysis, and training and technical assistance on data for the Human Service Planning Alliance, Making Connections, and the community. Be the recognized source for accurate, timely, and relevant neighborhood-level community and human services data for Des Moines and Polk County by HSPA member organizations, neighborhood groups, non-profits, community leaders, government officials, research organizations, and other community members. Operate and maintain a fully operational data resource center with an electronic data warehouse, and an online data library and document center that provides access to information and resources to multiple audiences in formats users can understand. Be recognized as a source of capacity building to empower community residents to increase their ability to understand and use data toward positive change. Be recognized as a resource of capacity building to empower community non-profits and other service providers to increase their understanding and use data to self-assess progress towards results. Assist HSPA to define and develop a set of shared community results and indicators, and be the primary resource for tracking indicators over time. Develop and support a framework and capacity for organizational self-assessment and learning within HSPA. Produce, on a regular basis for HSPA, Making Connections, and others meaningful reports regarding the status of results for families, children, and neighborhoods in our community. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Education/Experience: Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Certifications, Licenses, and Other Registrations: Valid drivers' license. 3. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory experience required to effectively lead and manage the HSPA team member(s) assigned to the Director, Local Learning Partnership, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, performance management, coaching and development, discipline and termination. 4. Computer/Office Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Proficiency required with quantitative statistical analysis using SPSS or SAS; database management and data querying; and GIS and mapping software, and HTML and web programming helpful.
