Executive Director Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance Position Description The Executive Director will be responsible to the Board of Directors for launching and managing the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance (BNIA.) BNIA is, for Baltimore communities working to improve the quality of life for their residents, and the public, private, nonprofit, and funding organizations that support them: * A widely and easily accessible gateway to neighborhood indicators; * Access to technical assistance in developing, interpreting, and using indicators; * Small data partnership grants to develop and use primary source data; and * A forum for assessing progress toward shared goals. The Board will consist of representatives of community organizations and of the eight founders of BNIA, all of which are already engaged in key aspects of BNIA=s mission: the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers, the Citizens Planning and Housing Association, the City of Baltimore, the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the Family League of Baltimore, Morgan State University=s Community Development Resource Center, the Neighborhood Design Center, and the Safe and Sound Campaign. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Provide guidance and recommendations to the Board with respect to policies and procedures, and implement Board decisions. Manage all activities of the Alliance, including marketing, contractual relationships, and strategic alliances, and provide coordination with and among existing activities of the founding organizations in the areas of: * Data acquisition and development * Development of indicators * Technical assistance to users * Acquisition of base maps * Administration of community data partnership grants * Roundtable discussions of indicator issues Hire and supervise staff. Prepare an annual budget and, with the support of the Board, develop fee-for-service policies to help ensure sustainability and conduct fund-raising. Establish and manage administrative systems that assure efficiency and accountability, as well as compliance with all pertinent state and federal regulations.
