Peter Eaton is Director of CEI. A tenured associate professor of economics at UMKC, he serves as the research center supervisor, principal statistician and investigator for most grants and contracts, key representative to outside institutions and agencies, and principal grant writer. Dr. Eaton established CEI in 1994. His teaching specialization is econometrics, and his research specialization is geospatial data analysis. He teaches undergraduate microeconomics, and econometrics at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. He also serves as the I.Ph.D. Coordinator for the Department of Economics and sits on numerous dissertation committees, several of which he currently chairs. In the past 5 years, Dr. Eaton has been the Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator for grants and contracts worth almost $2 million. All of these grants and contracts have been directed toward community and economic development of underserved areas of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
