Meg Merrick holds a Ph.D. in Urban Studies and an MS in Geography both from Portland State University. Meg is a Research Associate at the Institute of Portland Metropolitan Studies at Portland State where is the coordinator of Greater Portland Pulse (a regional indicator project) and the Community Geography Project.  She is currently overseeing the development of Neighborhood Pulse a complementary project to Greater Portland Pulse that focuses on small geography indicator and community generated data.  In addition, Meg was the principle investigator at Portland State for the Coalition for a Livable Future’s Regional Equity Atlas 2.0 Mapping Tool.  Meg’s interests focus on moving data to action, indicators and equity, data visualization, participatory GIS, and grassroots participatory practices. She is also the editor-in-chief of the Institute’s flagship publication, Metroscape
