Working out of Public Health – Seattle & King County, Louise Carter is the data and communications lead for Communities Count, a public-private partnership that provides reliable, timely, and relevant data to improve the quality of life for residents of communities in King County, Washington.  Before joining Communities Count in 2011, she worked as an academic researcher (at Universities of Washington and Minnesota), a journalist (freelance in the U.S. and internationally and as staff senior editor/writer for Northwest Health), and communications director for a policy research center at the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Affairs.  She also helped a Microsoft team put together an on-line resource on pregnancy, parenting, and child health.  Louise earned her Ph.D. in child development from the University of Minnesota.
