Since joining Thoughtwell, Bruce has led a number of projects including an assessment with the City of Columbus to identify social service needs for residents within the Near East Side neighborhood. This project involved utilizing secondary data and other sources to build a demographic profile of the community, identifying priority social service needs, and determining any gaps or barriers that exist in accessing those services.

Bruce has also served as project lead on Franklin County Children’s Service’s (FCCS) request to find “non-traditional” caseworkers to fulfill the increasing demand in the field. This project consisted of obtaining relevant literature on the subject matter, interviewing key professionals to identify alternative degrees and programs that would translate well into the career, and recommending action steps to improve recruitment and retention moving forward.
