This presentation was made at the URISA 2008 Annual Conference & Exposition. The presentation summarizes 1) our investigation of data sources to find a publicly available and frequently updated indicator of population after Katrina, 2) the development of the technology and information design to present this data in an online mapping system at the census block-level, and 3) examples of how users used the data in recovery activities and research products.
