NNIP Idea Showcase & Network Update, June 2016
In 2014, we began holding virtual idea showcases after partners expressed the desire for more NNIP conversations between in-person meetings. Thanks to Idea Showcases, partners have shared their work and found new opportunities for collaboration with fellow NNIPers. Our second Idea Showcase of 2016 came back by popular demand!
NNIP HQ started with a quick update on network activities including details about upcoming conferences and overall NNIP goals. For technical reasons, the beginning of the NNIP update has not been included in the recording below. Then, each presenter had 5 to 8 minutes to talk about potential, current, or completed work.
- Maxwell Austensen (Furman Center) on the new Microcider, a tool for creating simple, easy microsites
- Mingming Zhang (The Piton Foundation at Gary Community Investment) on the Mile High Data Day
- Anthony Galvan (Institute for Urban Policy Research) on a tool used by United Way Dallas to make funding decisions (minute 29:30)
- Bob Gradeck (University Center for Social and Urban Research) on Data User Groups as community engagement
