RHCDA Holds Training on "American Community Survey Data about Your Service Area"

Rise   (St. Louis)

March 2011

RHCDA holds four, free group trainings per year for area Community Development Corporations on a variety of topics.  Our March 2011 Training focused on the American Community Survey, and specifically the 2005-2009 data. By a show of hands at the beginning of the training, none of the attendees had used 2005-2009 American Community Survey data before the training.  Attendees learned where to access the data and received one-page custom reports for their service areas, which opened up a discussion about data accuracy and margins of error, how local knowledge can augment reported data, and what information local CDCs wished they had access to.
