New Maps Highlight Childhood Lead Exposure in Rhode Island

Lead exposure is one of the most common and preventable environmental health problems threatening children in Rhode Island. Lead exposure, even at very low levels, can cause irreversible damage including impaired cognitive, motor, and physical abilities.

New maps created in partnership with the Childhood Lead Action Project, the RI Department of Health, and The Providence Plan show the prevalence of childhood lead exposure in Providence and across Rhode Island.
