Green Infrastructure Planning Charrette

The Mid-America Regional Council   (Kansas City)

November 2016

The Mid-America Regional Council is seeking participation in an important workshop about connecting parks, green spaces, trails, rainwater infrastructure and people within vibrant, healthy, living systems.

Defining a Framework

The Mid-America Regional Council has begun to define a framework for environmentally beneficial projects, programs and policies that will be used to shape a regional green infrastructure plan. Our region, like many, struggles to address a wide range of environmental and social challenges that impact human health and well-being, including exposure to air, water and soil pollution; access to green space and quality foods; and greater susceptibility to extreme weather events. A regional green infrastructure plan will set the stage for our region to leverage a livable future based on sustainability and regeneration – integrating living systems with human aspirations.
