This interactive conference sponsored by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will explore creative uses of data and technology to promote public and private investment in transitionalcommunities. This conference will feature discussions with local redevelopment leaders from Baltimore, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Oakland, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and other communities. Participants will have the opportunity to consider a wide array of practical, cost-effective tools and methods to inform local decision-making, mobilize support, and attract investment. Putting Data to Work: Data-Driven Approaches to Strengthening Neighborhoods is a companion edited volume that was released in conjunction with the event. Tom Kingsley and Kathy Pettit of the Urban Institute coauthored the framework essay, and Jeff Matson from the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs was one of the authors of the Minneapolis story.
